16-17

Here they are! 16-17!

Basically... we worked on handlebars.

12-15 (Done!)

 Hi guys!

We are conquering these tutorials.

This is my run through of lessons 12-15.

We started out making wheels, and that's basically what we did the whole three lessons!

Look at my awesome custom made wheel spokes! I chose a more "alien" design, rather that the tutorial's version.

later, the system crashed and I think I lost the save file....

so I had to reload the spokes of Mr. Tutorial man... which was sad.

Aaaaaannd that's all. See you guys next time!

10 and 11

As you all can see, I have now finished lessons 10 and 11!
Here are my photos.

Here, I experienced difficulty, due to the extrusion refusing to actually for to my spline. rather, it rendered this hideous monstrosity....

8-9

Hi everyone! I'm back!

So I have now completed lessons eight and nine!

off to the side are pictures!!!

In lesson 8, I created a new section of my bike!
it was really a sort of recap on everything we had learned.

We did learn a few new things, however, like how to isolate an object so you can only see it, and nothing else! That ended up being really useful!

I didn't like how my object ended up with all these lines (see right)

But in the end:

It rendered out perfectly!

We also learned how to change color on objects.

When we switched to grayscale, I realized there was a problem with the main bike part that I had never noticed before! (oops!)

See that funny front of the bike? The polygons on that are disappearing and can only be seen on the inside of the object basically, it's like the
object has become a one-way mirror window.

 These are from lesson  nine!!!

In that lesson we simply added these cylinders and learned a lot of new editing techniques.
Oh! and here is a "before grayscale" image of my bike! notice that the disappearing polygon problem is invisible!

See you all next time!

Lessons 1-7 complete! (Yay!)

Hey everyone! this is my ART-Class Blog!
so the past week I've been learning this program- 3DS MAX, and I have finished the first 7 lessons! (yay)

So here was lesson one- we learned how to make a cube! It was pretty easy, but we also learned a bunch of interface stuff.

Lesson two was a bit more complicated. we learned to extrude! and I made a fox-face shape! (instead of a boring heart like we were told to)

In lesson three: we learned to place image-planes into our workspace. This was a useful skill to learn, but was still quite easy to accomplish

Now, in lesson 4, things started to get a little more complicated.
we started to learn how to make splines, and connect them together. soon, we would be creating 3-dimensional objects!

Lesson 5 was a bit more complex. We tarted dividing up our shape into pieces so that an object could more easily be formed from it.

Lesson 6: A 3-d shape was made! oddly, the tutorial-man had more issues than I did! my shape formed out perfectly, so I did not need to fill in any holes, which was nice.

In lesson 7, I had to create a whole new object! I think it went well. one issue I had was that the top on my 3-d spline looked like an open book, and I could not figure out a way to fix it without restarting (pulling at the vertices changes the shape too much, and it would not let me adjust the spline handles. On a whim, I tried making a fully surfaced shape, and the shape formed perfectly anyway! it was amazing. the splines looked odd still, but the shape was fine.

In my next post, I will discuss my adventures with lesson eight! And possibly a few other lessons too. Cya till then!
